As the newly elected president of this organization, I'd like to take a moment to share my thoughts and aspirations of what we are, what we intend to do, and most importantly what it will mean to you. We aspire to be by the modeler and for the modeler, not just a disconnected voice. The entire board of directors has been and will remain loyal to the hobby. We all have been directly involved in providing assistance to modelers independently, now we are pooling our resources, strengths and talents into one repository. We desire to help the average modeler, the professionals already KNOW what they are doing, we are here to help retain, educate, and provide assistance to the new entrants into the hobby, and at the same time to provide a means of stewardship to intermediate and accomplished modelers. We want your collective voices to be heard, and will strive to fill your needs, both as a collective and individuals.
Our vision is simple; Promote the rotor craft aspect of the hobby, and affirm ourselves as a viable, safe discipline in the eyes of others. In and of itself that is a bold statement, with numerous avenues of opportunity to fail. Drawing from many years of motivating people from various backgrounds and cultures to complete a common goal, I hope to be up to the task. Our short term goals are set out, a deadline has been agreed on and we are moving forward. We have Incorporated as a social group in the state of Georgia, and have applied for non-profit status with the state and federal governments.Time line for government processing is the unknown entity, as more information becomes available this will be updated, as of present we have received our Inc. status and our Federal Taxpayer ID.*Update! We are officially recognized as a non profit* . So many ideas, so little time. Interim officers are seated for one year. This means we have to identify tasks and act on them expeditiously to achieve our short term goals. From an idea to an organization in only two weeks, self-imposed deadline of less than two months to incorporate and define ourselves? Ambitious undertaking would be an understatement. We take our fun seriously, we take our jobs seriously, and we take this organization seriously. Proof of this will come when our goals are met, and we are the go-to people; The folks you look to for advice, guidance, and to express your needs as modelers to our parent organization.
